Below are examples of books Germaine has had the opportunity to create discusison guides for.
Award winning Film and Broadway Actor & Children's Book Author Taye Diggs has completed his fifth children's book titled Why?, which will be available for purchase on October 19, 2021. Shane W. Evans, award winning Illustrator of We March and Chocolate Me, provided the artwork for this book.
In addition to this exciting news, Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group has contacted PRP CEO & Educator Germaine Tarver to author the Parent Guide that will be available to families, organizations and educators.
Mrs. Tarver is very humbled to have been chosen to be a part of this team. She is excited to have been a part of this process that will support responsible conversations on race, injustice and the lingering feelings that injustice leaves behind. The accompanying Parent Guide supports families with activities and questions to get the most out of the conversations that are sure to arise as families read WHY?
Award winning Journalist & Author Tim Madigan has written an important book titled The Burning: The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. This book has been described as a definitive account of America's worst episode of racial violence.
Mr. Madigan and Macmillan Childrens Publishing Group have also teamed up with Hilary Beard, award-winning Author, Educator, Editor and book collaborator, to create The Burning (Young Readers Edition). This edition has been specifically created to educate youth on this historic event that so many have tried to wipe from the pages of history.
Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group has contacted PRP CEO & Educator Germaine Tarver to author the accompanying Teacher Discussion Guide that is available to educators & organizations.
Germaine Tarver has created a guide that supports educators, families and organizations in asking questions that promote conversations that lead to new learning and new thinking. She has also included pre and post-reading activities for students to engage in as they explore this exceedingly violent event in history.
Educator & Author Germaine Tarver has written an important book titled If It’s Magic. This Young Adult fiction novel delves into the life of teenager Nina Winslow, a supremely gifted musician struggling to grow up in a dysfunctional household.
The Teachers Guide that accompanies If It’s Magic is aligned to the New Jersey State Learning Standards and supports students in analyzing and synthesizing complex texts. In addition to being in alignment, the questions and activities promote in-depth discussions to help examine difficult topics and journey with characters that deal with the best and worst of what life often gives.
PRP Consulting skillfully creates guides that make texts more relevant to young readers. These resources ensure young people have the background knowledge needed to take on complex content. They also provide plenty of opportunities for students to share their thinking and consider the thinking of others. Our guides allow for texts to stay with readers long after they have closed the book.
