Award winning Film and Broadway Actor & Children's Book Author Taye Diggs has completed his fifth children's book titled WHY?, which will be available for purchase on October 19, 2021. Shane W. Evans, award winning Illustrator of We March and Chocolate Me, provided the artwork for this book.

In addition to this exciting news, Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group has contacted PRP CEO & Educator Germaine Tarver to author the Parent Guide that will be available to families, organizations and educators.

Mrs. Tarver is very humbled to have been chosen to be a part of this team. She is excited to have been a part of this process that will support responsible conversations on race, injustice and the lingering feelings that injustice leaves behind. The accompanying Parent Guide supports families with activities and questions to get the most out of the conversations that are sure to arise as families read WHY?

University of Chicago & United Way of Greater Newark Donate Germaine Tarver novel to Newark, NJ Youth

Organizations To Donate PRP Consulting CEO Germaine Tarver's Young Adult Novel
"If It's Magic" to Middle School Youth in Newark, NJ

Karen Leach-Toomer of the United Way of Greater Newark & Director of the "My Very Own Library" program (sponsored by The University of Chicago), has informed PRP Consulting that both organizations have chosen to donate copies of CEO Germaine Tarver's Young Adult novel If It's Magic for distribution to youth in Newark, NJ.

Mrs. Tarver is elated that her novel will be shared with more youth and hopes that this novel will make a difference in the lives of the young people who read it.

As a follow up to the reading of the book, Mrs. Tarver has agreed to hold Author Visits to allow students the opportunity to share their thoughts and questions about If It’s Magic, and will address any questinos regarding the process of writing and publishing a book.

Award winning Journalist & Author Tim Madigan has written an important book titled The Burning: The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. This book has been described as a definitive account of America's worst episode of racial violence.

Mr. Madigan and Macmillan Childrens Publishing Group have also teamed up with Hilary Beard, award-winning Author, Educator, Editor and book collaborator, to create The Burning (Young Readers Edition). This edition has been specifically created to educate youth on this historic event that so many have tried to wipe from the pages of history.

Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group has contacted PRP CEO & Educator Germaine Tarver to author the accompanying Teacher Discussion Guide that is available to educators & organizations.

Germaine Tarver has created a guide that supports educators, families and organizations in asking questions that promote conversations that lead to new learning and new thinking. She has also included pre and post-reading activities for students to engage in as they explore this exceedingly violent event in history.

Germaine Tarver spoke at the 2019 New Jersey Department of Education’s Statewide Conference on Equity. Focusing on equity through academic discourse, or student talk, Germaine spoke to fellow educators about the importance of student talk to learning. She highlighted the depths of thinking and quality of conversations that arise from students having the time to think, share, discuss and consider alongside their peers.

Germaine shared proven strategies that not only increase student discourse but also increase access to learning for all students. Participants walked away with invaluable resources and engaging activities that are easily implemented and bring joy to classrooms.
