Professional Development For Teachers

Professional development for teachers focuses on building or strengthening viable writing communities that support students in growing as writers. Professional development sessions offer a keen understanding of each aspect of a Writer’s Workshop session, including what teachers and students should be doing in each aspect.

These invaluable sessions help educators see not only the what but also the why of writing instruction. Information learned will empower teachers to confidently deliver highly-effective writing instruction that allows students to grow into exceptional, independent writers.

Strategies learned will transfer into confident student writers tackling various genres. These strategies also add joy to Writing Workshop sessions as students bring their interests, their thinking and their lives to the page.

Engagement will flourish in teachers’ revamped Writer’s Workshop sessions!

Professional Development for Administrators

With the amount of work that administrators must accomplish daily, it is quite difficult for school leaders to focus their time solely on writing instruction.

Our consultants work with school leaders to take the guess-work out of identifying effective writing instruction. Let us sit with you and share resources and information that demystify robust writing instruction. We answer all questions regarding what to look for during Writer’s Workshop sessions and share practical, yet potent, feedback that can make meaningful differences in instruction.

Our consultants can also help you create an itinerary of the work around writing that your Literacy Lead and teachers can engage in during staff or grade level meetings.

When all stakeholders are working toward improved writing instruction, the results can be amazing!
